About

Voices of Palestine is an oral history video archive.

The Palestinian experience is generally misunderstood and often entirely ignored in North American mainstream media. This project is an effort to redress this issue and give voice to those who have not been heard.

Voices of Palestine would like to acknowledge the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the simultaneous atrocities occurring in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Daily massacres, starvation of civilians, heinous attacks on journalists, aid workers, medical personnel and children, aided by the support of wealthy nations, have shocked the world.

Despite this horror, the Western world remains largely passive, exposing the hypocrisy of its leaders and the bias of its media. Voices of Palestine was born out of the need to counter the incomplete narrative portrayed by our largely complicit establishment.

The media often misrepresents the conflict, portraying Hamas attacks without context. The brutal 75-year Israeli occupation is rarely discussed, skewing the perception of Israelis as the only victims of violence and Palestinians as terrorists.

Fair reporting by outlets like Al Jazeera, Democracy Now, The Breach, Electronic Intifada and +972 Magazine, to name a few, shed light on the reality of the occupation and complete the irresponsible picture portrayed by our mainstream media.

To take action there are several things you can do. Write to politicians, sign e-petitions, join protests, donate to UNRWA and support the BDS Movement (https://bdsmovement.net/) by shopping consciously.

We will continue to speak out against the long-standing, illegal oppression of Palestinian people by Israel until true justice is achieved.

Lastly we want to applaud the Palestinian people. Our sorrow for what they are suffering is beyond words. They are the toughest, most resilient and undoubtedly, the most courageous people on the planet. Our respect and admiration for them could not be greater.
